You might have a lot of questions about what exactly is dryer vent cleaning- Well try to answer your questions here- but if you don't see the answer here feel free to call us at 516-619-2095, we'll be happy to answer your questions directly... but here goes:

Question: What and were is the dryer vent?

Answer: The dryer vent is the hose that comes out of the back of your dryer, it then vents the hot air (and some lint) to the outside vent.

Question: Why should I have my dryer vent cleaned?

Answer: There are a number of reasons but the most important is to prevent the risk of fire. Lint and debris can gather in the hoses and reduce airflow. The heat being blown out of the dryer can cause this lint to spark leading to a fire.

Question: How often should I have my dryer vent cleaned?
Answer: We recommend cleaning your dryer vent at least once a year, but if you use the dryer on a daily- instead of the average weekly basis,  then it should be more frequent.

Question: How do I know if my dryer vent needs cleaning?
Answer: If it's been over a year (or longer). Longer drying time. A burning smell when using the dryer. Excessive lint around the machine.

Question: Can I clean the vent myself with a vacuum?
Answer: While it is possible to get some of the lint out of the dryer vent yourself with a vacuum it is highly recommended that you have a professional inspect your system at least once a year. We have the expertise and special equipment to remove the debris throughout the hose, ensuring no lint is left behind.

Question: How long does it take for you to clean the vents?
Answer: It depends on a few factors but the average visit is about an hour giving us ample time to check the entire hose, vent, dryer, etc.

Question: I clean my filter every load, do I really need to have my dryer vents cleaned?
Answer: A BIG YES! While cleaning the filter is very important and should be done every load, the filter DOES NOT capture all the lint. Over time a lot of lint does get past the filter and into the dryer vent hoses leading to potential fire hazards.

Question: If I have my dryer vent cleaned will it improve my dryer?
Answer: Allowing the dryer to "breathe" better allows the entire system to work better. The proper airflow and heat distribution is important for the entire system, making it work better.  Having a clean system will also save on energy bills (the dryer isn't working as hard) and will extend the life of your dryer.

Question: How with cleaning my dryer vent improve my drying time?
Answer: We've found that when the dryer vent is clogged the dryer has to work harder and longer. When the clothes are not getting the proper heat flow around them the end up staying wet for longer, which means you'll have to dry them for longer.

Question: How is a clogged vent a fire hazard?
Answer: The fluffy lint, say from your tee shirts or towels, is extremely flammable as shown in our Video.  If the lint is allowed to stay in your dryer vent hose, the heat of the dryer can cause it to ignite. Regular, scheduled cleaning, can prevent a potential hazard.
